Until now, I have The Sims (the first one!) on my old Asustek Notebook PC, which I have turned into a play station, with mini-games and old sensations like Age of Empire and Road Rash for my kid (or kids) to play, provided that the good ole notebook should stand the test of time.
I first played The Sims with my girlfriend Marissa who later on became my wife. We had each our own Sims in the virtual neighborhood. We particularly enjoyed keeping their lives "green." They became friends - with constant visitations by my Sim, of course. By the time that the friendship was in full swing, the clicked options expanded to more romantic (and sensual) terms. We opted for them, too.
When we had the marriage proposal option the first time, we committed a mistake of making Marissa's Sim do it - so my Sim had her surname instead! I could not accept it so we did not save the game. When my Sim's turn came, we finally had it the "usual" way. The same thing, of course, happened to us. But not with the kids. Our Sim kids were both girls whom we had named Mariz Aphrodite and Daphne Marie. Our real-life kid is a boy whom we called Geeboy, nickname for Immanuel Genesis.
The Sims, whether you have the old original or the most current version, is not only a fun, addicting game. It also teaches you how to handle some basic aspects of your life, like hunger, fun, comfort, bladder, energy, hygiene, room, social, etc. For me, it is the best game for all ages and probably, for all time.
